FARMINGTON, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (5-1-2) blanked University of Maine-Farmington (2-4-0), 6-0, in a non-conference men's soccer contest on Wednesday afternoon.

THE LEAD

Six different players scored to help the Monks extend their undefeated streak to six games as senior Nicholas Borowski (Webster, Mass.), junior Daniel Fox (South Portland, Maine), sophomores Kartikeya Swarup (Delhi, India) and Dalton Gaumer (Corona, Calif.), and freshmen Mitchell Duncan (Sanford, Maine) and Cody Elliott (Gorham, Maine) found the back of the net in the lopsided victory.

THE KEEPERS

Saint Joseph's split time in net with sophomore Blake Mullen (Manchester, Conn.) making three saves in 71:42 minutes and second-year Zack Moody (Steep Falls, Maine) going untested in 18:18 minutes of mop-up duty.

UMF goalie Ronie Morales (Houston, Texas) had a busy afternoon between the pipes with 14 saves.

TEAM STATS

Saint Joseph's held sizeable advantages in shots (38-7), shots on goal (21-7), and corner kicks (8-2) in the victory.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING

With the victory, Saint Joseph's improves to 8-17-4 in the history of the series with Maine-Farmington, a team the Monks have now defeated in six-consecutive meetings dating back to the 2011 season. Prior to this afternoon, St. Joe's had never scored more than three goals in a game versus the Beavers.

NEXT!

Both teams return to action hosting conference opponents this Saturday, when Saint Joseph's faces Emmanuel College at 2:00 PM and Maine-Farmington takes on Husson University.
