NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Saint Joseph's College swim program opened the 2023-24 campaign with a head-to-head matchup at Colby-Sawyer College on Friday evening. The SJC women rolled to a 130-64 victory while the Chargers clipped the Monks by a 62-44 score on the men's side.

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

• Sophomore Lucas Fendl (Ellsworth, Maine) won the 50-Free (24.65), finished second in the 100-Fly (1:01.21), and third in the 100-Breast (1:17.59)
• Senior Shawn Perry (Plaistow, N.H.) won the 100-Back (1:05.79) and placed second in the 200-IM (2:20.57) and 100-Breast (1:13.70) events
• Senior Eli Lind (Turner, Maine) was second in the 200-Free (3:16.36) and 100-Free (1:23.09) events and third in the 50-Free (36.58)
• Fendl, Perry, and Lind raced an exhibition in the 200-Free relay (1:53.78)

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

• Senior Brooke Podsiadlo (Granby, Mass.) won the 200-IM (2:32.49) and 100-Back (1:09.85)
• Junior Kiley Matthews (South Portland, Maine) won the 50-Free (26.66) and 100-Free (59.43)
• First-year Evelyn Soule-Parent (Lyman, Maine) won the 200-Free (2:15.30)
• Sophomore Tiffany Twombly (Sanford, Maine) was second in the 100-Fly (1:16.48) and 100-Breast (1:17.73)
• Freshman Berkley Hutchins (Springfield, Vt.) won the 100-Breast (1:17.33) and placed second in the 50-Free (27.85)
• Freshman Gracie Parker (Bar Harbor, Maine) was second in the 1000-Free (12:52.23) and 500-Free (6:17.03)
• Sophomore Elise Soucy (Saco, Maine) placed second in the 200-IM (2:45.95) and 100-Back (1:11.73)
• Freshman Bri Letourneau (Lewiston, Maine) finished second in the 100-Free (1:07.12) and third in the 200-Free (2:30.84)
• Sophomore Hannah Murphy (Quakertown, Pa.) finished third in the 100-Fly (1:28.90) and fifth in the 50-Free (31.61)
• Senior Ashley Thompson (Granby, Conn.) was third in the 100-Breast (1:31.71) and fourth in the 100-Fly (1:34.62)
• Sophomore Emma Westgate (Sanford, Maine) placed fourth in the 200-Free (2:49.97) and 500-Free (7:42.54)
• First-year Sam Miller (Gardiner, Maine) was fourth in the 100-Free (1:10.95) and swam an exhibition in the 50-Free (32.93)
• Soucy, Twombly, Soule-Parent, and Podsiadlo won the 200-Medley relay (1:54.58)
• Hutchins, Parker, Soule-Parent, and Matthews won the 200-Free relay (1:54.26)
• Letourneau, Miller, Thompson, and Murphy raced to a second-place finish in the 200-Free relay (2:09.10)
