Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Monks Cruise Past Beavers, 6-0

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College blanked UMaine Farmington in a non-conference field hockey contest at the SJC Athletics Complex on Wednesday evening. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Sadie Tirrell (Naples, ME), assisted by Isabella Littler (Fayette, Maine), opened the scoring for the Monks in the 18th minute of play. The Beavers kept the Monks at bay until Maya Waryas (Bellows Falls, VT) netted the second goal of the game as the game neared the 29th minute of play. Isabella Littler secured her second assist of the game in the 43rd minute of play off a goal from Junior Kienna Haley (Scarborough, Maine). Abbie Jacques (Mount Vernon, Maine) assisted Kienna Haley in bringing the Monks to 4-0 in the 48th minute. Maya Waryas went on to score another goal for the Monks with less than six minutes remaining in the game. Zoey Lailer (Limington, ME) scored the final Monks goal of the night in the 57th minute of play assisted by Isabella Littler

TEAM STATS:

Saint Joseph's held the lead in shots (19-2), shots on goal (17-1), and penalty corners (8-3) in the victory.

THE KEEPERS:

Kassidy Collins (Pittston, Maine) was tested once by the Beavers and made the save successfully.
