WORCESTER, Mass. -The Saint Joseph's College Monks topped the Western Connecticut State University Wolves, 98-84, in the consolation game of the Ted Coghlin Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Harrington Auditorium.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Julian Llopiz (Boston, MA) paced Saint Joseph's with a game-high 22 points, while sophomore
Derek Salvatore (Johnston, RI) chipped in with 20. Junior Tayejon Lynch, sophomore C.J. Riley
, and rookie Nicholas Moore (Buffalo, N.Y.) joined Nick Boyce and Marcel Henry in double figures for the Wolves.
Both teams shot better than 50 percent from the field, but Saint Joseph's excelled from beyond the arc, hitting 18 three-pointers compared to WestConn's three. Additionally, Saint Joseph's was efficient at the free-throw line, converting 77 percent of their attempts, while the Wolves made just 59 percent of theirs.
The game began with Saint Joseph's jumping out to a 12-5 lead, which they would maintain throughout. They headed into halftime with a 45-40 advantage, thanks to a last-second bucket by Salvatore. WestConn managed to cut the lead to three points early in the second half when Henry knocked down two free throws, making it 69-66. However, Saint Joseph's quickly regained control, extending their lead to 97-80 after Salvatore hit another three-pointer.
