STANDISH, ME. – Jacques, Waryas, Haley goals help lift Saint Joseph's College (2-5, 2-1 GNAC) past University of Saint Joseph (4-4, 1-2 GNAC), 3-2, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey contest on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks kicked off the scoring in the eleventh minute when Abbie Jacques (Mount Vernon, Maine) pocketed the first goal of the game. Kienna Haley tacked on the second goal of the game in the sixteenth minute. Maya Waryas added on a goal in the 39th minute of play, assisted by Sadie Tirrell.
The 3-0 advantage remained until the 44th minute when the Bluejays tried to make a come back with goals scored in the 44th and 50th minute of play. The Monks held on to their 3-2 lead to secure the win.

Saint Joseph's held the lead in shots (15-11) and penalty corners (9-5) in the victory.
THE KEEPERS:
Monks netminder senior Kassidy Collins (Pittston, Maine) logged five saves.
USJ netminder Jaci Felix-Hull logged four saves and Abby Delgado logged one in the 3-2 loss.
