STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College of Maine women's cross country team made history on Saturday morning, winning the inaugural Coach Dann Runnin' Monks Classic on their home course. The Monks captured the team title with 23 points, outpacing Emerson College (33) and Regis College (85) in the 6K race honoring longtime coach Tom Dann, who dedicated nearly three decades to the cross country and track & field programs at Saint Joseph's.
"Our women are really coming together and delivering outstanding performances," adds Director and Head Coach of the Monks' Cross Country and Track & Field programs. "Our top four finished just 12 seconds apart, and we closed strong with a solid 5–7. They battled hard, ran as a team, and it was special to bring home hardware on such a meaningful day in Monks XC history, at a meet now named for longtime coach Tom Dann. Tom's impact on this program continues to inspire and truly reflects what it means to be a Monk."
