WESTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College (13-10, 8-0 GNAC) outlasted Regis College (13-11, 6-2 GNAC) in a five-set thriller, winning 3–2 (25-20, 18-25, 14-25, 27-25, 15-9) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference volleyball action on Wednesday evening at the Regis Athletic Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks took control early with a .313 hitting percentage in the opening set, earning a 25-20 victory. Regis answered with back-to-back set wins, using steady attacking in the second and a .290 efficiency clip in the third to seize a 2-1 match lead.
Facing elimination, Saint Joseph's rallied in the fourth set. After eight tie scores and four lead changes, the Monks pulled away late, edging Regis 27-25 to force a decisive fifth frame. In the final set, SJC held Regis to a negative attack rate (-.185), and sealed the match with a 15-9 triumph.
Overall, the match featured 22 tie scores and nine lead changes.
TEAM STATS:
Saint Joseph's posted 43 kills against 26 errors on 160 swings for a .106 hitting percentage, while Regis finished with 49 kills and 35 errors on 166 attempts for a .084 clip. The Monks held the advantage in total blocks (13-8) while Regis held the lead in service aces (13-8), assists (47-40), and digs (82-74) in the conference contest.

- For Regis, Grace Fabiano (15 kills, .313) and Avery Mola (15 kills, 19.5 points) paced the Pride, while setter Alexandra Rivera dished out 40 assists with 10 digs.
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:
With the victory, Saint Joseph's improves to 4-12 all-time against Regis College and records back-to-back wins over the Pride for just the second time in series history. The Monks last accomplished the feat in 2009 and 2010, when they posted consecutive 3-1 triumphs.
