CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College women's alpine team placed eighth overall at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships at Sugarloaf this weekend. After finishing ninth overall in the giant slalom on Saturday, the Monks earned eighth place in the slalom on Sunday.
The Monks were led for the second consecutive day by Maddie Zordan. Zordan (New Hartfirdm CT) finished her run in 37.65, placing 21st overall.
Katie Yeaton finished 33rd in 39.70 seconds. Hannah Golden (Concord, N.H.) finished 40th with a rum time of 40.85, Sienna Mack (Lincoln, N.H.) finished in 48th place (42.11) while Lilly Souweine (Bangor, ME) finished 65th (1:02.10).
The Monks posted a combined time of 1:58.20 securing eighth place.
For the weekend, Maddie Zordan finished as the 24th ranked skier earning 135.04 race points, Hannah Golden was 35th with 255.82 race points, Sienna Mack was 40th with 323.42 race points, Lily Anctil was 58th with 1095.06 race points, Katie Yeaton was 60th with 1097.84, and Lilly Souweine was 75th.
