RUMFORD, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams competed in a giant slalom at Black Mountain on Sunday. The SJC women won the event, while the Monks' men earned another second-place finish.
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
Saint Joseph's captured the team title with 12 place points and a combined time of 5:14.95. Freshman Maggie Cook (Centennial, Colo.) led the Monks with a third-place finish in 1:42.70. UMaine-Farmington claimed the top two spots, as Rosie St Cyr won in 1:38.67 and Houkulani Caroselli placed second in 1:41.69.
Also competing were UMaine-Farmington (21 points), Bowdoin (27), and UMaine-Orono (35).
FOR THE MONKS:
- Maggie Cook – third, 1:42.70 (49.41 / 53.29)
- Hannah Golden (Jr., Concord, N.H.) – fourth, 1:44.72 (50.37 / 54.35)
- Ava Beaudin (Fr., Raymond, Maine) – fifth, 1:47.53 (52.47 / 55.06)
- Sienna Mack (Sr., Lincoln, N.H.) – sixth, 1:49.27 (52.27 / 57.00)
- Meghan Cyr (Jr., Hampden, Maine) – 10th, 1:55.80 (55.51 / 1:00.29)
- Reese Burke (So., Center Barnstead, N.H.) – 12th, 2:00.08 (1:01.29 / 58.79)
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
UMaine-Farmington secured the men's title with six place points and a total time of 4:33.50. UMF swept the podium with Magnus Riggs (1:31.08), Lance Dolan (1:31.14) and Sam Roy (1:31.28). The Monks finished in second-place with 22 place points and a total time of 4:46.02.
Bowdoin (40 pts) and UMaine-Orono (47 pts) also raced in the giant slalom today.
