STANDISH, Maine. - The Saint Joseph's College Monks (20-4, 12-1) defeated the Norwich Cadets (4-18 ,3-8) 111-77 in a GNAC men's basketball contest on Tuesday evening at home.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks scored first off the opening tip and never looked back, rushing out to a quick 7-0 lead before Norwich got on the board with a three. After the initial ten minutes of play, the Monks had a dominant 13 point lead. The Cadets were able to reduce the Monks' lead to 11 at a few points before the Monks went on a 9-0 run with 6:54 remaining in the first half, expanding their lead to 50-28. The Monks went on to lead the Cadets by as many as 30 twice in the last five minutes of the first half. Concluding the first half 68-41, the Monks took a 27 point lead into the second half.
Despite getting the Saint Joseph's lead below 30 at one point in the second half, Norwich was unable to come any closer, as the Monks built a lead that grew to as large as 37 points before concluding the game with a 34 point victory.

- Julian Llopiz (Boston, MA) notched his 1,000th career point tonight, scoring a game high of 24 points
- Remijo Wani (Portland, ME) recorded a double-dobule with 21 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and one steal
- Wani Donato (Portland, ME) contributed 21 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals
- Silvano Ismail (Portland, ME) added 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and two steals

- Jalen Olivero recorded 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals
- Kohlby Murray tallied 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal
