Monks Fall to Lasers, 12-3

STANDISH, Maine – The Lasell University men's lacrosse team defeated the Saint Joseph's College Monks in a 12-3 win on Friday at the SJC Athletics Complex.

How It Happened:

Lasell wasted no time, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter. Jason Martin got things started with an unassisted goal at 13:03, and Nick Magliozzi doubled the lead with 5:33 on the clock. The Lasers capitalized on a man-up opportunity as Ryan Stone scored off a feed from Martin at 4:18, before Will McCarthy capped the quarter with a goal at 2:00, assisted by Nate Campbell.

Sam Guilmette made it 5-0 early in the second with an unassisted goal, and Martin set up Colin LeBaron for another man-up tally at 9:05. The Monks finally broke through just before halftime, as Joseph Kiedaisch found the back of the net unassisted at 0:45, making it 6-1 at the break.

Kiedaisch struck again to open the second half, scoring off a pass from Tyler Moscato at 14:16 to trim the deficit to 6-2. Lasell quickly regained control with four unanswered goals in the third to extend the lead to 10-2.

The Lasers tacked on two more in the fourth, with Jack Condon scoring at 13:13 off a Guilmette assist and McCarthy adding his second of the day at 7:15, assisted by Stone. Kiedaisch completed his hat trick for the Monks with 1:36 remaining, but it was too little, too late, as Lasell secured the 12-3 victory.
