Box Score BOSTON, MA – A dominant second quarter propelled Emmanuel (5-6, 4-0) to a 10-6 win over Saint Joseph's College of Maine (3-6, 1-2) in a GNAC matchup on Wednesday evening.
The Saints (4-5, 2-0 GNAC North) broke the game open in the second quarter, outscoring the Monks 4-1 to take a commanding 6-1 lead into halftime. Emmanuel's offense was led by Braxton Bragg and Cole Cloney, who each recorded hat tricks, while Ryan Etzo added two goals. Cooper Mehlhorn and Jack Antico also found the back of the net, and Sanzio DiGesualdo set the pace with four assists.
Saint Joseph's (3-5, 1-0 GNAC North) battled back in the second half, outscoring Emmanuel 5-4, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome. Brandon Cavicchi (Kingston, MA) and Will Levesque (Marlow, NH) each scored twice, while Calvin Heline (Amesbury, MA) and Cam Raymond added a goal apiece.
In net, Emmanuel's Colby Enos made 12 saves with a .667 save percentage, while Reed Wescott (Windham, ME) recorded 13 stops for the Monks. Faceoffs played a key role in the Saints' victory, with Ty Carroll winning 16 of 21 attempts to help Emmanuel control possession. Despite Zander Kirk (Bath, ME) winning 14 of 19 faceoffs for Saint Joseph's, the Saints had the edge in ground balls, 21-11.
