MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Joseph's College women's track and field team headed down to the SNHU Spring Invitational on Friday, March 28, at Southern New Hampshire University. The Monks posted strong early-season performances across sprints, hurdles, relays, jumps, and throws.
"In a short season this was certainly a good sign that we are in a good spot," said Head Coach Mike Burleson. "It was great track weather for March and our athletes took advantage of it with several school records and impressive performances. We will look to carry this momentum and build upon these early marks over the next month before heading into the championship part of the season."
MEET HIGHLIGHTS

Ella Labrie delivered a standout performance in the Long Jump, taking first place with a mark of 5.06m (16'7.25"). Labrie followed up with a third-place finish in the Triple Jump with a leap of 10.31m (33'10").

Cheri Willems ran an impressive 2:32.26 in the 800 Meters to secure a fifth-place finish.

The Monks' 4x100 Relay team of Jemima Kabangu, Zoe Indenga, Madalyn Guindon, and Alexis Cowan clocked a time of 54.38 to finish sixth.

Abby O'Brien placed third in the Discus with a best throw of 31.27m (102'7") and followed up with a seventh-place finish in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 38.27m (125'7").

Katelynn Reynolds also had a strong showing, earning fifth in the Hammer Throw with a toss of 33.47m (109'10").
SPRINTS AND HURDLES
The Monks displayed solid performances on the track, with Zoe Indenga leading the team in the 100 Meters with a time of 13.80 to place 26th. Jemima Kabangu followed in 35th with a time of 14.48. In the 200 Meters, Ava Richards posted a time of 30.19 for 25th place.
In the 400 Meters, Bella Koepsell crossed the line in 1:06.25, earning a 7th-place finish, while Karina Jones finished in 13th with a time of 1:27.20.
Freshman Madalyn Guindon competed in the 400 Hurdles, recording a time of 1:19.49 to place 12th.
MID-DISTANCE AND DISTANCE EVENTS
In the 800 Meters, Cheri Willems ran a strong race to finish 5th with a time of 2:32.26.
Freshman Haley Williams represented the Monks in the 5000 Meters, finishing 7th in 20:47.03.
RELAYS
The Monks' 4x100 Relay team of Kabangu, Indenga, Guindon, and Cowan completed the race in 54.38 to earn 6th place.
In the 4x400 Relay, the quartet of Willems, Guindon, Olivia Bean, and Koepsell secured a 4th-place finish with a time of 4:32.02.
JUMPS
Ella Labrie dominated the Long Jump with a winning mark of 5.06m (16'7.25"), followed by Alexis Cowan in 10th place with a jump of 4.52m (14'10"). Olivia Bean placed 11th with a best jump of 4.47m (14'8"), while Samira Mohamed (Class of 2027) landed a mark of 3.35m (11'0") for 20th.
In the Triple Jump, Labrie took 3rd with a mark of 10.31m (33'10"), with Bean placing 6th at 9.87m (32'4.75"). Breya Whitman followed in 8th at 9.47m (31'1").
In the High Jump, Whitman and Berkley Hutchins both cleared 1.36m (4'5.5") to place 14th and 15th, respectively.
THROWS
Abby O'Brien shined in the Discus Throw, securing 3rd place with a best mark of 31.27m (102'7"). Haley Lang followed in 15th at 23.67m (77'8"), with Katelynn Reynolds placing 18th at 23.60m (77'5").
In the Hammer Throw, O'Brien placed 7th with a throw of 38.27m (125'7"), while Reynolds was 12th with a toss of 33.47m (109'10").
Sarah Joe also competed, placing 12th in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 27.34m (89'8") and 23rd in the Discus Throw at 20.95m (68'9").
In the Shot Put, Kabangu threw 8.99m (29'6") to earn 11th place.
In the Javelin, Sarah Richard-Cote threw 18.24m (59'10") for 21st place.
