PORTLAND, Maine – Saint Joseph's College opened the 2025 campaign with a second-place finish at the University of Southern Maine Tri-Match, held Friday afternoon at Riverside Golf Course.
The Monks posted a team score of 331 (+43), slotting between host Southern Maine and UMaine-Farmington. The Huskies' top squad carded a 296 (+8) to claim the team title, while their second unit placed third with a 300 (+12). UMF rounded out the field with a 371 (+81).
Individually, USM's sophomore Alex Fournier and junior Finnegan Sharpe shared medalist honors after firing even-par rounds of 72.
FOR THE MONKS:
- Freshman Finn Manning (Carver, Mass.) led the way with a 77 (+5) score and tied for seventh overall
- Sophomore Kyle Bowlan (Pelham, N.H.) shot an even 80 (+8) and tied for 10th individually
- Sophomore AJ Davis (Turner, Maine) carded an 85 (+13) in his SJC debut and finished 14th
- Junior Zachary Stone (Gray, Maine) finished 15th (89, +17) and sophomore Noah Schaffer (Gray, Maine) placed 18th (98, +26)

Saint Joseph's will host the 22nd Annual John Queenan Memorial Tournament at the Point Sebago Golf Resort on Wednesday, September 3rd. The yearly tournament is named in memory of John Queenan, a 2003 graduate of Bow High School who died tragically in an automobile accident just prior to the beginning of his freshman year as a student-athlete at Saint Joseph's.
