PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University (7-4) defeated Saint Joseph's College (2-7), 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-21), in non-conference women's volleyball action on Tuesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
After dropping the opening set by a 25-14 margin, the Monks rallied from a 6-0 hole in the second frame to take a 16-15 edge following a kill by junior Greta Mackintosh (Plymouth, Mass.). The Panthers answered with a 6-2 run, and although Saint Joseph's cut the deficit to 24-22 on an Addison Thomas (London, Ohio) kill, Sya McKay sealed the set with a decisive swing.
The Monks battled throughout the third set, keeping the margin within four points, but Plymouth State closed out the match with a 25-21 win.
