NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Norwich University (3-2-2, 1-1-0 GNAC) defeated Saint Joseph's College (2-3-0, 2-1-0 GNAC), 3-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer action at Sabine Field on Saturday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cadets struck first in the 20th minute when Lily Briggs bent a left-footed corner kick directly into the back of the net for the 1-0 edge. Norwich doubled its lead just five minutes into the second half when Colby Magoon slotted a right-footed shot into the top corner from just outside the penalty spot. Briggs capped the scoring in the 86th minute, cleaning up a loose ball at the goalmouth after a setup from Kat Probst.

SJC sophomore Ashlyn Guerette (Merrimack, N.H.) made six saves for the Monks while Kirrane earned the shutout victory for the Cadets with two stops.

With the result, Saint Joseph's falls to 11-4-4 in the history of the series with Norwich University.
