St. Joe's Falls at Rivier, 2-1

NASHUA, N.H. – Saint Joseph's College (2-4-0, 2-2-0 GNAC) dropped a 2-1 decision at Rivier University (4-3-2, 3-0-1 GNAC) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer action on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Junior forward Jordan Huntley (Stafford Springs, Conn.) opened the scoring in the 15th minute off a feed from senior Sydney Gallop (Hermon, Maine). Less than a minute later, Rivier responded when Leah Morrier netted the equalizer. The game remained deadlocked until late in the second half, when Bianca Casna provided the game-winner for the Raiders in the 74th minute, assisted by Nadia Laxa.

TEAM STATS:
Rivier held the edge in shots (28-9), shots on goal (15-4), and corner kicks (5-1) in the GNAC contest.

THE KEEPERS:
SJC sophomore goalkeeper Ashlyn Guerette (Merrimack, N.H.) posted a career-high 13 saves in the setback. The Raiders split time in net, with Olivia Rosario recording two saves while allowing one goal in the first half, and Bri Nugent making one stop in the second stanza.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:
With the loss, Saint Joseph's falls to 13-5 all-time versus Rivier, which has now won three straight in the series for the first time since the teams began playing in 2007.

Saint Joseph's will host Lasell University on Saturday in a GNAC matchup set to kick off at 1:00 PM.
