BANGOR, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College of Maine volleyball team swept Husson University, 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-16), Wednesday evening at Newman Athletic Gymnasium.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Saint Joseph's (4-7, 1-0 GNAC) put together one of its most efficient outings of the season, hitting .253 as a team while limiting Husson (1-11, 0-0 NAC) to a .000 percentage. The Monks stormed out with a commanding 25-9 win in the first set and kept momentum rolling with a .313 hitting clip in the second. Husson hung around early in the third, but Saint Joseph's closed strong to finish off the sweep.
INDIVIDUAL STATS:

Junior Greta Mackintosh (Plymouth, Mass.) paced the attack with eight kills, nine digs, and a .211 hitting mark

Junior Kylie Giakoumis (Middletown, N.Y.) added five kills on .333 hitting with three blocks

Freshman Emily Mendelson (Springboro, Ohio) was efficient in the middle, tallying four kills on .333 hitting along with three blocks and two aces

Junior Larisa Comolli (Nashua, N.H.) chipped in four kills and two blocks

Freshman Maddie Garrett (Euless, Texas) handed out eight assists and collected four digs

Sophomore Riley Greenley (Newark, Del.) dished out a team-high nine assists with a service ace

Junior Jessica Christman (Virginia Beach, Va.) registered three assists, two aces, and three digs

Freshman Livy McDonough (West Friendship, Md.) provided three service aces and five digs in the back row
