PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College men's golf team placed fourth with a 323 (+35) collective card in the UMaine–Presque Isle Invitational at Presque Isle Country Club on Thursday afternoon.
Maine Maritime Academy claimed the team title with a 313 (+25) score, while UMaine–Augusta finished second at 320 (+32) and Husson University placed third with a 321 (+33) card. Saint Joseph's (323, +35), UMaine–Presque Isle (345, +57), and UMaine–Farmington (350, +62) rounded out the field.
MMA's Nathan Barker earned Medalist honors with a 73 (+1), while Ryan Lai of UMaine–Augusta was second with a 74 (+2). Saint Joseph's freshman Jason Curran (North Reading, Mass.) finished third overall with a 75 (+3).
FOR THE MONKS:
- Freshman Jason Curran (North Reading, Mass.) finished third and led the Monks with a 75 (+3), going out in 38 and coming in at 37 for the team's lowest score.
- Sophomore Kyle Bowlan (Pelham, N.H.) placed ninth with an 80 (+8), posting matching 40s on the front and back nines.
- Junior Noah Tibbetts (Brewer, Maine) tied for 11th with an 82 (+10), shooting 40 on the front and 42 on the back.
- Sophomore AJ Davis (Turner, Maine) tied for 21st with an 86 (+14), recording 41 on the front and 45 on the back.
- Senior James Gignac (Portland, Maine) tied for 24th with an 88 (+16), carding a 46 on the front and improving to 42 on the back.
