STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been released and a pair of Saint Joseph's College women's lacrosse players have claimed honors.
Sophomore Ella Highbarger (Kennebunk, Maine) was selected as the GNAC Player of the Week, while senior Alexis Eldridge (Effingham, N.H.) earned GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week accolades.
Highbarger opened her sophomore campaign with a career-high six goals — including the overtime game-winner — to go with two ground balls and two draw controls in a 10-9 OT victory over Plymouth State University on Tuesday. The weekly award is the second of her career, as she previously earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors on April 6, 2025.
Eldridge collected the first GNAC weekly award of her career after turning aside 11 shots in the Monks' first-ever win over Plymouth State.
Saint Joseph's will play at Bates College at 6:00 PM next Tuesday.
