Record Run for Ramadan at Tufts Final Qualifier

Medford, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College men's track & field continued its postseason momentum with two standout performances, highlighted by junior Haytham Ramadan delivering a national-caliber run in the 800 meters.

Ramadan finished second in the 800 meters in 1:51.99, the fastest time in program history and a mark that currently places him 6th in Division III, positioning him to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. The NCAA will release the official championship selections at 7:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 8 on NCAA.com, and the national championship will take place Friday–Saturday, March 13–14.

In the long jump, freshman Stephen Pierre placed third with a best mark of 6.73m (22' 1"), highlighted by a consistent series that included two jumps over 6.30m as he capped a strong indoor postseason.

To cap the season, Ramadan and Pierre have been two of the Monks' top performers all winter. Ramadan added GNAC titles in the 800 and mile, 7th place finish in the New England Championship, to go with his program-record 1:51.99 this weekend at Tufts. Pierre has delivered across multiple events with winning GNAC title in the 60 hurdles, and earning the Peter M. Goodrich Men's Field MVP at Maine States—an historic first for the program since the award began in 2003.
