STANDISH, Maine – The 2026 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region teams have been announced, and Saint Joseph's College senior attack Celia Melanson (Waterford, Maine) has earned Second Team All-Pilgrim Region honors.
Melanson becomes just the second player in program history to earn IWLCA All-Region recognition, joining current head coach Lydia Dexter, who received Second Team All-Pilgrim Region honors in 2022, after totaling 21 goals and a nation-leading 86 assists for 107 points in 21 games this season. The 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Attacker of the Year paced NCAA Division III in both total assists and assists per game (4.10) while also ranking among the national leaders in points.
Her 86 assists established a new Saint Joseph's single-season record and she became only the second player in program history to surpass the 100-point mark in a season.
Over 74 career games, Melanson amassed 83 goals and a program-record 167 assists for 250 points while adding 126 ground balls, 54 draw controls, and 36 caused turnovers. She graduates as the program's all-time leader in assists and ranks third in school history in career points.
Melanson is one of just two GNAC players to earn 2026 IWLCA All-Region honors as she is joined on the Second Team by Colby-Sawyer College sophomore attack Lauren Vignola.
Saint Joseph's posted an 18-3 overall record and captured the GNAC Championship with a 12-3 victory over Emmanuel College on May 2, securing the program's third conference title and first since 2022. The Monks later advanced to the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament, where they fell to nationally-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology in the opening round.
