Wood Chosen to Play in NEILA Senior All-Star Game

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College senior defender Kevin Wood (Danvers, Mass.) has been chosen to represent the Monks in the 2026 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East-West Senior All-Star Game, scheduled for Friday, June 5, at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.

The annual showcase features 43 of New England's top senior lacrosse players from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III. Opening faceoff is slated for 7:00 PM at Jessee/Miller Field inside Tansill Muldoon Stadium.

Wood adds the honor to an impressive senior campaign in which he garnered First Team All-GNAC recognition after posting career-best totals of 47 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers. Serving as a team captain, he also earned a spot on the GNAC All-Tournament Team while helping guide Saint Joseph's to the first conference championship game appearance in program history.

Over four seasons, Wood appeared in 67 contests and made 63 starts. He finished his collegiate career with four goals, three assists, 122 ground balls, and 84 caused turnovers, ranking fourth all-time in program history in the latter category.

Wood becomes the 11th Saint Joseph's student-athlete selected for the NEILA Senior All-Star Game. Previous Monks representatives include Xavier Michaud '24, Eli Arsenault '23, Alex Osmanski '21, Brendan Martin '21, Jason Barrett '21, Michael Finn '19, Raymond Emery '19, Connor Trainor '18, Liam Skinner '18, Jonathan Horgan '12.

Selections for the East-West Senior All-Star Game are made through a nomination process conducted by NEILA member coaches, with final teams determined by a selection committee. The event is unique in bringing together standout seniors from all three NCAA divisions who competed at institutions throughout New England.

Under second-year head coach Matthew Gilbert, the Monks posted an 11-9 overall record and finished 7-4 in GNAC play during the 2026 season. Entering the conference tournament as the sixth seed, Saint Joseph's earned road victories over third-seeded Lasell University and second-seeded University of Saint Joseph before narrowly falling to top-seeded Rivier University, 8-7, in the GNAC Championship game.
