CASCO, Maine – Saint Joseph's College recorded a team score of 480 to place fourth in the women's competition at the 23rd Annual John Queenan Memorial Tournament at Point Sebago Golf Resort on Wednesday.
The University of New England claimed the team title with a four-player score of 353. Husson University and the University of Southern Maine tied for second with matching scores of 401. Southern Maine Community College did not record a team score.
Southern Maine's Remy Levin claimed medalist honors after firing a seven-over-par 79. UNE's Amanda Forziati placed second with an 80 (+8), while SMCC's Grace Thompson finished third with an 81 (+9).
Junior Reese Beaudoin (Monmouth, Maine) paced the Royal Blue with an 89 (+17) and placed sixth overall. Senior Breya Whitman (Auburn, Maine) followed in 20th place with a 127, while sophomore Cailin Henry (Wells, Maine) and junior Dakota Morgan (Norway, Maine) completed the Monks' scoring lineup.
One of Maine's longest-running annual collegiate golf events, the tournament is named in memory of John Queenan, a 2003 graduate of Bow High School who died tragically in an automobile accident shortly before the beginning of his freshman year as a student-athlete at Saint Joseph's.
