Santa Cruz, CA - The Monks dropped a 67-54 decision to Occidental College in the Championship game of the UC Santa Cruz New Year Tournament today.  Sophomore Alysn Ludwig (Waldoboro, ME) recorded a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

St. Joe's had to overcome a rough start on the offensive end, but managed to convert 12 of 19 free throws to stay within striking distance, down 9 at the break. 

The Monks fought hard in the second stanza but Stacie Roshon continued to drill three pointers to stymie each SJC run.  Roshon finished with 21 (6/9 3-PT FG) and 11 rebounds.

FY Carolyn Freeman (Scarborough, ME) had 11 points and JR Megan Farrell (Abington, MA) and JR Marie Lint (Orono, ME) chipped in with 9 and 8 points, respectively.
