Box Score STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (3-8, 1-3 GNAC) defeated Regis College (2-8, 0-5 GNAC), 22-2, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's lacrosse action at the SJC Athletics Complex on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Ten different players scored for the Monks in the lopsided victory as the hosts rattled off 17 unanswered goals before the Pride finally found the scoreboard with 6:42 left in the fourth quarter.
TEAM STATS:
Saint Joseph's held substantial leads in shots (65-15), shots on goal (43-10), ground balls (49-19), and face-off wins (20-6) in the conference conquest.
THE KEEPERS:
SJC junior starter Brannon Gilbert (Gray, Maine) made three saves in the first half while freshman Ryan Boutiette (Burrillville, R.I.) posted five stops in the second stanza.
Regis netminder Nick Penta made 21 saves in the losing effort.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Sophomore Timothy Goodfellow (Wayland, Mass.) scored five goals with three assists
- Freshman Calvin Heline (Amesbury, Mass.) tallied three goals and a pair of assists
- Junior Max Lacy (Salisbury, N.H.) scored a goal with four assists, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers
- Junior Zavier Balzano (Otisfield, Maine) netted three goals with an assist
- Senior Nathan Varle (Saco, Maine) and freshman Jack Leach (Pembroke, Mass.) scored three goals apiece
- Junior Eli Arsenault (Saco, Maine) produced three caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls
LEADERS – REGIS:
- Blake Hiltz and Ryan Richardson scored goals in the setback
- Aidan Martin scooped up five ground balls

With the win, Saint Joseph's improves to 3-1 in the history of the series with Regis College.
