STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (12-3-3) defeated Alberts Magnus, 3-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer match at the SJC Athletics Complex on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Patricio Mowa opened the scoring with his first goal of the season in the ninth minute of play, drilling the ball into the top left corner of the net. Divin Mpinga scored the second goal of the night at the 35:29 minute mark assisted by Nick Marion.
The Monks increased their lead to 3-0 on a Diego Robinson goal and Kyle Clairmont assist in the second half.
TEAM STATS:
The Monks held the lead in shots (20-6), shots on goal (11-1), and corner kicks (6-3) in the victory.
THE KEEPERS:
Liam Foley made one save for the Monks in 85 minutes of play. Cristian Rodriguez also saw time in net for the Monks. Luke Tomas posted six saves in the Falcons losing effort while David Lucero made two for the Monks.
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:
With the victory Saint Joseph's increases their record against the Falcons to 11-9 and 7-4 at home.
