WATERVILLE, Maine – Saint Joseph's Women's Basketball (1-0. 0-0) opened their season against Thomas College (0-1, 0-0) in the first game of the Terrier Tip-Off and defeated the Terriers 66-41.
How it Happened:
The Monks took an early 8-2 lead in the first half with buckets from Grace Ramsdell, Angelica Hurley, Logan Brown, and Maddie Russell.
Saint Joseph's increased their lead to eight points early in the second quarter with scoring contributions from Junior Elisabeth Staplefield (Brookline, NH) and Angelica Hurley. The Monks bettered their shooting percentage in the second quarter, improving from 23.53% to 40%. The Monks went on a run late in the second quarter and took the 31-17 lead at the half.
The Monks picked up the pace offensively in the third quarter and set the Terriers back to 53-27 after 30 minutes of play.
The Terriers opened the fourth quarter strong with 6 quick points, but the Monks took control for the remainder of the fourth quarter shooting 66.67% and handed the Terriers a 66-41 loss in their home opener.

- Junior Grace Ramsdell (Wells, Maine) tallied eight points and seven rebounds
