STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College of Maine men's cross country team hosted the first annual Coach Dann Runnin' Monks Classic on Saturday morning. The meet, named in honor of longtime coach Tom Dann, celebrated his nearly three decades of dedication to the Monks' running programs and marked a memorable start to what will become a yearly tradition at the College's home course on the shores of Sebago Lake.
The Monks placed third overall with 58 points in the 8K race, finishing behind the University of Southern Maine (31) and Emerson College (37).
"Having this meet named after Coach Dann means so much—not just to our team, but to everyone who's been part of the program over the years," said Associate Head Coach Troy Hendricks. "As one of his former athletes, I could feel the emotion and pride surrounding the day. Coach Dann poured nearly three decades into this program, and his impact goes far beyond the course. He's shaped lives, inspired generations of runners, and created a legacy that will continue to guide us for years to come."
