Briones & Mackintosh Named First Team All-GNAC

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced its 2025 women's volleyball postseason honors, and two Saint Joseph's College standouts earned spots on the All-Conference First Team.

Senior outside hitter Victoria Briones (El Paso, Texas) and junior outside hitter Greta Mackintosh (Plymouth, Mass.) were both selected to the top squad, marking the first time since 2015 that Saint Joseph's has featured a pair of First Team honorees. The last SJC duo to accomplish the feat were Felicia Wachowiak '16 and Jennelle Thompson '19.

Briones earns First Team recognition after previously collecting Second Team honors following her sophomore and junior season. She battled through several injuries to record 178 kills, a .233 attack percentage, 26 aces, 171 digs, and six blocks for 207 total points during her senior season.

Over four years, Briones amassed 851 kills, 150 aces, 1,192 digs, and 42 blocks for 1,028.5 points across 104 matches (365 sets). The 2025 GNAC All-Tournament Team selection concludes her career ranked third in program history in digs per set (3.27), fourth in kills and kills per set (2.33), sixth in total attacks (2,572) and digs, 10th in service aces, and fourth in points.

Mackintosh turned in a true breakout junior campaign, earning her first All-Conference honor while setting career highs in nearly every statistical category, including kills (271), kills per set (2.68), attacks (761), aces (12), digs (122), digs per set (1.21), total blocks (35), and points (303.5). The September 29 GNAC Player of the Week reached double-digit kills in 15 matches—including a career-best 17 against Framingham State on October 4—and registered two double-doubles during the season.

Saint Joseph's wrapped up the fall with an 18–13 overall record and an 11–2 GNAC mark under eighth-year Head Coach Jon Roberts. The Monks earned the #3 seed in the conference tournament and defeated #6 Simmons University, 3–1, in the quarterfinals on November 11, marking the program's second-ever GNAC home playoff match and first since 2015. SJC advanced to the semifinal round for the third straight year before falling to eventual GNAC champion Lasell University two days later.
