STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College of Maine women's basketball team (18-6, 11-2) topped the Norwich Cadets (8-16, 2-12) 81-49 in a GNAC contest on Tuesday evening at home.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and never relinquished control. Norwich cut the deficit to 11-7, but Saint Joseph's responded with a 13-2 run to build a commanding 15-point advantage after the first quarter.
The Cadets briefly stayed within 13 early in the second period, but Saint Joseph's offensive surge continued, and they expanded their lead to 26 points by halftime.
Saint Joseph's outscored Norwich 17-11 in the third quarter, while the Cadets fought back to match the Monks' 20 points in the final period. Although Norwich managed to cut the deficit to under 30 points in the fourth quarter, they were unable to close the gap further as the Monks' lead swelled to as much as 35, securing a 32-point victory.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Graduate Student Angelica Hurley (Groveland, MA) recorded a game-high of 18 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and five assists
- Logan Brown (Brunswick, ME) tallied 16 points, four rebounds, one assist, and three steals
- Grace Ramsdell (Wells, ME) added two rebounds, two assists, a steal, and 13 points
- Madison Lebel (Hermon, ME) contributed eight rebounds, four assists, one steal, and seven points
- Elisabeth Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) added 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, and one steal

- Maren McGinn scored a team-high of 13 points
- Haley Brewster recorded 11 points and one assist
