WESTON, MA-The Saint Joseph's College Monks took on the Regis College Pride on Friday, February 28th, in Weston, Mass.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Senior
Calvin Heline (Amesbury, MA) opened the scoring for the Monks just 1:12 into the game.
Heline wasted no time and added another less than a minute later. At 11:47, Sophomore
Brandon Cavicchi (Kingston, MA) extended the Monks lead to 3-0. Regis fought hard and added
two goals by Nick Klein and Jack Jaynes to make it 3-2. Senior
Ryan Bogdanski (Southington,
CT) extended the Monks lead to 4-2 with 10 seconds remaining in the quarter.
The Monks notched three goals in the 2nd quarter from Sophomore
Joseph Kiedaisch
(Westminster, MA), Senior
Will Levesque (Marlow, NH), and Cavicchi to make it a 7-2 lead.
Heline opened the scoring in the 3rd quarter before Nick Klein got his second goal for the Pride.
The Monks added three goals within two minutes from Heline, Cavicchi, and Levesque. Jaynes
recorded his second of the game for the Pride just before Junior
Tiger Hopkins (Leeds, ME)
scored with seconds remaining on the clock.
Kiedaisch got his second of the evening just 1:20 into the 4th quarter. Hopkins followed with his
second goal just before Freshman
Chase Ranger (Farmington, ME) scored his first collegiate
goal to extend the Monks lead to 15-4. Less than a minute later Sophomore
Nic Michaud found
the back of the net for the Monks. Weston Schumacher scored with just 39 seconds left in the
match as the Monks took the 16-5 victory over the Pride.
