Monks Swimming Completes Day 1 of GNAC Championships

WORCESTER, Mass.–Saint Joseph's College closed out the first day of the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Swimming & Diving Championships in fourth place at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Sports and Recreation Center on Friday.

The SJC women sit in fourth place with 152 team points. Norwich University leads the women with 288 points, Simmons in second place (281), Regis in third (212), SJC in fourth, USJ in fifth (147), Elms in sixth (120), and Albertus Magnus in last with 86 points.

In the preliminaries, Berkley Hutchins finished first with a 1:15.58 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. 

In the Friday Finals the Monks saw strong performances from multiple swimmers. Berkley Hutchins had a strong performance in the 100 yard breaststroke finishing second. While Tiffany Twombly placed third in the 400 Yard IM (5:07.48). 

The 200 yard medley relay team of Twombly, Hutchins, Letourneau, and Matthews finished third (1:58.62).  

The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay Team of Twombly, Hutchins, Letourneau, and Matthews finished in a strong third with a 3:57.80. 

The 2025 GNAC Swimming and Diving Championships continue Saturday, Feb. 8, with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m.
