WORCESTER, Mass.–Saint Joseph's College closed out the second day of the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Swimming & Diving Championships in fifth place at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Sports and Recreation Center on Saturday.
The SJC women sit in fifth place with 323 team points. Norwich University leads the women with 635 points, Simmons in second place (588), USJ in third (342), Regis in fourth (340), SJC in fifth, Elms in sixth (186), and Albertus Magnus in last with 147 points.
Cheri Willems posted a best time in the 500 Fres. Bri Letourneau recorded a best time in the 100 Fly. Elise Soucy recorded multiple best times in the 50 Free, 100IM, and 50 Back while Jessica Christman recorded a best in the 50 Free.
In the Saturday Finals the Monks saw strong performances from the relay teams.The 200FR relay team of Hutchins, Twombly, Letourneau, and Matthews took home a third place finish with a time of 1:45.64, which also set a new team record. The Monks also brought home the bronze medal in the 800Fr Relay with the team of Willems, Letourneau, Matthews, and Soucy (9:11.70)
Tiffany Twombly took home the silver medal in the 100IM (1:05.94)
The 2025 GNAC Swimming and Diving Championships will conclude tomorrow, Sunday, February 9th at WPI.
