LEWISTON, ME- The Saint Joseph's College Monks traveled to Lewiston, ME, to face the Bates College Bobcats on Tuesday, March 18th. First pitch was set for 3:30 p.m.

The Monks got on the scoreboard early with 2 runs in the 1st inning after Junior shortstop, Luke Doughty (York, ME) led off with a double. Doughty scored on a sacrifice fly from Dawson Gundlah (York, ME). senior 3rd Baseman, Michael Wearne (Ellington, CT) scored after freshman DH, Ethan Belvin (Claremont, N.H.) singled to the shortstop. The Bobcats scored their lone run in the bottom of the 3rd inning off a home run from Keagan Ryan. To start the 4th inning, freshman catcher, Nic Frink (Scarborough, ME) hit a home run to give the Monks a 3-1 lead. Belvin scored later in the inning when junior 2nd Baseman, Jack Moltenbrey (East Longmeadow, MA) singled to right field. Moltenbrey scored in the top of the 6th from a single off of Doughty's bat. In the top of the 9th, Frink scored off a fielder's choice that came from the bat of freshman first baseman, Nick Villano (Peabody, MA). The Monks scored their final run when junior left fielder, Ryan Kastle (Concord, N.H.) singled through the left side, scoring senior right fielder, Alex Moore (Henniker, N.H.).

• Nic Frink went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 runs scored, and an RBI

• Keagan Ryan went 2 for 3 with a home run, run scored, and an RBI
• Gibby Sullivan went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk

On the Mound

Senior Logan Dee (Laconia, N.H.) threw 4.0 innings for the Monks and recorded 3 strikeouts, 1 walk, and 1 run on 2 hits. Senior Jason Johnson (Thomaston, CT) threw 2.0 innings, striking out 1, allowing 1 walk and 1 hit while senior Hugh Barrett (Durham, N.H.) pitched 1.0 inning and recorded a strike out. Freshman Jack Dyer (Medford, MA) came in to close out the game for the Monks. Throwing 2.0 innings, Dyer recorded 3 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk and 2 hits. 

For the Bobcats, Christopher McGrail threw 3.0 innings and allowed 4 runs on 5 hits. Charlie Bushley threw 3.0 innings and allowed 1 run on 6 hits. Nolan Hobbs threw a complete inning and allowed 1 hit. Micah Sheats and Matthew Shrake each threw an inning and allowed a hit. Ian McAslan faced 2 batters and allowed 2 hits and 2 runs.
