WINTHROP, MA- Freshman catcher Nic Frink (Scarborough, ME), junior pitcher Dylan Brander (Merrimack, NH) and senior third baseman Michael Wearne (Ellington, CT) received All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors as announced by the conference office today.
Freshman catcher Nic Frink (Scarborough, ME) received Second Team All-Conference recognition after an impressive debut campaign. Frink had a stellar season at the plate, leading the Monks in batting average, hits, RBIs, runs and home runs. He produced a .390 batting average with 57 hits, 38 RBIs, 29 runs, eight home runs and six walks.
Junior pitcher Dylan Brander (Merrimack, NH) was also named to Third Team All-Conference after an impressive season on the mound and on the plate. Brander led the team in ERA and innings pitched. He posted a 4-1 record and a 3.08 ERA with 48 strikeouts, one complete game and one shutout. On the plate, Brander recorded a .310 batting average with 13 hits, 11 RBIs, three runs, one walk and one home run.
Senior third baseman Michael Wearne (Ellington, CT) earned a place on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team for the first time. Wearne demonstrated integrity, respect, and outstanding character on and off the field.
Saint Joseph's also received the Institutional Sportsmanship award for the season. This award recognized the collective commitment to respect, integrity and sportsmanship from the team throughout the season.
