Frink, Gundlah, Wilhelm, and Brander Headline MCBSA All-State Honors

STANDISH, Maine – The Maine College Baseball & Softball Association (MCBSA) recently announced its 2025 postseason honors, with four members of the Saint Joseph's College baseball team earning All-State recognition following strong individual seasons.

Freshman catcher Nic Frink (Scarborough, Maine) was named the MCBSA Co-Rookie of the Year and selected to the First Team All-State. Frink started all 39 games for the Monks, finishing the year with a .390 batting average (57-for-146), 29 runs, 10 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, and 38 RBI. He led the team in each of those categories and set a new program record by throwing out 17 attempted base stealers. Frink was also honored as the D3Baseball.com Region 1 Rookie of the Year and earned First Team All-Region status from both D3Baseball.com and the ABCA.

Graduate designated hitter Dawson Gundlah (York, Maine) also earned First Team All-State recognition. He appeared in 36 games (33 starts) and posted a .345 batting average with 40 hits, 21 runs, 21 RBI, and 12 walks. Gundlah ranked second on the team in batting average and hits, and third in walks. His season included several multi-hit and multi-RBI performances, contributing consistently throughout the spring.

Junior outfielder Jared Wilhelm (Tolland, Conn.) was named to the Second Team All-State after playing in 25 games (23 starts) and batting .330 with 31 hits, 25 RBI, 24 runs, and seven home runs. Wilhelm finished second on the team in RBI and home runs, and tied for second in runs scored. His season included several key offensive outings, including two multi-homer games.

Junior pitcher Dylan Brander (Merrimack, N.H.) also received Second Team All-State honors. Brander made eight starts and appeared in 27 games overall, finishing with a 4-1 record, 3.08 ERA, and 48 strikeouts over 49.2 innings. He led the team in ERA and innings pitched, and tied for the team lead in strikeouts. Brander also contributed at the plate, batting .310 with 13 hits and 11 RBI. His season included a complete-game shutout against Anna Maria and several solid outings in conference play.

The MCBSA honors reflect the steady contributions of these four student-athletes over the course of the 2025 season. Saint Joseph's posted a 20-19 overall record, including an 10-7 mark in conference play, under the watch of 33rd-year Head Coach Will Sanborn '86 this 2025 season.
