Frink Named D3Baseball.com Preseason All-American

STANDISH, Maine – The 2026 D3baseball.com Preseason All-America teams have been released and Saint Joseph's College sophomore catcher Nic Frink (Scarborough, Maine/Thornton Academy) has been named a Second Team Preseason All-American.

Selected from previous years' All-America and All-Region nominees, the annual preseason list recognizes the top returning talent in Division III.

Frink delivered one of the most impressive debut seasons in program history in 2025, leading the Monks in batting average (.390; 57-for-146), runs (29), hits (57), doubles (10), home runs (8), RBI (38), and slugging percentage (.651). He also ranked among the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) leaders, placing second in home runs and slugging percentage, third in total bases (95), fourth in batting average, and fifth in hits. Behind the plate, Frink set an SJC single-season record by throwing out 17 runners attempting to steal.

His standout freshman campaign also placed him atop the program's rookie record book in hits, while ranking second in home runs, extra-base hits, and total bases, and third in batting average and slugging percentage. Frink was honored as an ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region 1 First Team selection, a D3baseball.com Region 1 First Team pick, the D3baseball.com Region 1 Rookie of the Year, and the Maine College Baseball & Softball Association (MCBSA) Co-Rookie of the Year.

Frink is the first Saint Joseph's player to earn D3baseball.com Preseason All-America recognition since Chad Rafferty '13 in 2013. One of just five honorees from New England, he is also one of only four sophomores nationally to appear on one of the three preseason teams.

Other New England selections include Endicott senior pitcher Evan Scully (First Team), Babson senior utility player Zander Teator (Second Team), Eastern Connecticut senior catcher Hank Penders (Third Team), and Salve Regina senior pitcher Kyle Carozza (Third Team).

Led by 34th-year Head Coach Will Sanborn '86, Saint Joseph's will kick off the 2026 season with a pair of games at Bowdoin College on Saturday, February 28th.
