Monks Kick Off 2025 Campaign at Chargers Invitational

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Saint Joseph's College of Maine men's cross country team competed at the 2025 Colby-Sawyer Charger Invitational on Saturday morning. Racing in a competitive GNAC-heavy field, the Monks placed third overall with 70 points on the 5K course at Colby-Sawyer College.

"It was a beautiful day to kick off the season," Associate Head Coach Troy Hendricks adds. "This group has had a great past couple weeks of training to start the year and I'm really looking forward to see what this team accomplishes. Every one of them is a returner so they know what they have ahead of them and I think today was just the beginning for an exciting season."

NEED TO KNOW:

At the 2024 Colby-Sawyer Invitational, Saint Joseph's captured the team title with 29 points, placing four runners inside the top ten. Then-junior Jacob Pelletier (Augusta, Maine) set the tone with a first-place finish in 15:55, while Ryan Graham (16:49) and Alexey Seredin (17:02) added top-10 efforts. The Monks posted a 17:07 average time and showcased strong depth in the victory.

Fast forward to 2025, finishing third overall with 70 points behind Norwich (32) and Thomas College (33). Sophomore Isaac Keresey (Pittsfield, Maine) stepped into the top spot for Saint Joseph's, running 17:12 for 8th place, while senior Alexey Seredin (Peaks Island, Maine) continued his consistent scoring presence with a 13th-place showing. The Monks averaged 18:48 per runner with a 4:19 scoring spread in the opener.

THE RUNDOWN:

Norwich University claimed the team title with 32 points, edging Thomas College, who finished second with 33 points. Saint Joseph's (70 points) rounded out the podium, while SUNY Canton took fourth with 97 points.
