STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced its weekly award winners, and Saint Joseph's College senior forward Maya Waryas (Bellows Falls, Vt.) has been named GNAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week.
Waryas tallied three goals and an assist to power the Monks past Regis College in a conference matchup on Saturday. The honor marks the fifth GNAC weekly accolade of her career and her first since earning Rookie of the Week recognition on October 24, 2022.
One of the league's most dangerous scorers, Waryas enters the week tied for the GNAC lead in both goals (6) and points (15). Heading into today's non-conference tilt at UMaine-Farmington, she owns 48 goals and 13 assists for 109 points across 62 career games, ranking fourth in program history in career goals and fifth in points.
Saint Joseph's travels to UMaine-Farmington this afternoon for a 4:00 PM contest before resuming GNAC play on Saturday with an 11:00 AM home game versus Simmons University.
