STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College senior guard Remijo Wani (Portland, Maine) has earned Second Team D3hoops.com Preseason All-America honors, as announced by the online publication Wednesday afternoon.
The recognition follows another outstanding season for Wani, who earned NABC Third Team All-America honors last winter after receiving Second Team recognition in 2025. He also repeated as the GNAC Player of the Year, Maine State Player of the Year, and GNAC Tournament MVP while collecting First Team All-Conference, All-State, NABC All-District, and D3hoops.com All-Region 1 accolades.
Despite missing six games due to injury, Wani averaged a career-high 22.9 points along with 6.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game during the 2025-26 campaign. He shot 49.2% from the field, 40.1% from three-point range, and 75.0% from the free-throw line, ranking second among Maine's Division III players in scoring average and total points.
Wani scored at least 20 points in 15 games and recorded five 30-point performances, highlighted by a career-high 42 points in a victory at Rivier University on February 11.
He also became the 15th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Teammate Wani Donato (Portland, Maine) reached the same milestone in that contest, marking just the second time two Monks joined the 1,000-Point Club in the same game.
Wani enters his senior season with 1,364 points, 476 rebounds, 226 assists, and 107 steals in 80 career games. Only six players in Saint Joseph's history scored more points through their first three seasons with the program.
Under Head Coach Tyler Ackley, the two-time reigning GNAC Coach of the Year, Saint Joseph's finished 20-9 overall and completed an unbeaten 12-0 conference regular season in 2025-26. After a 3-8 start while navigating injuries, the Monks won 17 consecutive games and captured their second straight GNAC Championship with a victory over the University of Saint Joseph.
The championship secured the program's fourth NCAA Tournament appearance. Saint Joseph's closed its season with a 71-67 loss to Babson College in the opening round.
Wani is one of just 25 players nationwide—and only seven from the New England region—to earn a spot on the D3hoops.com Preseason All-America Team. Other regional honorees include Dimetri Iafrate (Wheaton), Elijah Kinney (Endicott), Justin Molen (WPI), Zach McLaughlin (Maine-Farmington), Zack Wolinski (Wesleyan) and Babacar Pouye (Bates).
Saint Joseph's kicks off the 2026-27 season with a home game versus Clark University on Saturday, November 7 at 2:00 PM.
