Wani Named NABC Third Team All-America

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2026 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-America Teams, as selected by NABC-member coaches from across NCAA Division III, have been announced and Saint Joseph's College junior guard Remijo Wani (Portland, Maine) has once again been recognized among the nation's best.

After collecting NABC Second Team All-America honors in 2025, Wani followed that performance with NABC Third Team All-America recognition this winter to headline another exceptional season.

His 2025-26 honors include:

  • 2026 NABC Third Team All-America
  • 2026 NABC First Team All-District*
  • 2026 D3hoops.com First Team All-Region 1*
  • 2026 GNAC Player of the Year*
  • 2026 Maine State Player of the Year*
  • 2026 First Team All-Conference*
  • 2026 First Team All-State*
  • 2026 GNAC Tournament MVP*

*Also earned in 2025

Despite missing six games due to an injury, Wani enjoyed the most productive season of his career as a junior, averaging 22.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 49.2% from the field, 40.1% from three-point range, and 75.0% from the free-throw line. He ranked second among Maine's Division III players in both scoring average and total points and also finished among the state leaders in field goals made, three-pointers made, assists, and rebounding.

He scored 20 or more points in 15 games, recorded five 30-point outings, and poured in a career-high 42 points in a win at Rivier University on February 11.

Wani is one of only four NCAA Division III players to repeat as an NABC All-American this season, joining Trinity's Henry Vetter, Endicott's Marcus Montagnino, and Yeshiva's Zevi Samet.

He also reached a major milestone this season, becoming the 15th player in program history to join Saint Joseph's 1,000-Point Club. In that same game, senior forward Wani Donato (Portland, Maine) also reached 1,000 career points, marking just the second time in program history that two Monks hit the milestone in the same contest.

Only five active Division III players will enter the 2026-27 season with more career points than Wani, who has already totaled 1,364 points, 476 rebounds, 226 assists, and 107 steals in 80 career games. Only six players in program history scored more points through their first three seasons in a Saint Joseph's uniform.

Led by fifth-year head coach Tyler Ackley, the repeat GNAC Coach of the Year, Saint Joseph's authored one of its most impressive seasons in recent memory. After opening the year 3-8 while working through injuries, the Monks responded with a 17-game winning streak that stood as the third-longest active run in the nation at the time. Saint Joseph's finished 20-9 overall, went 12-0 in GNAC regular-season play, and defended its conference title with a win over second-seeded University of Saint Joseph in the GNAC Championship game.

The title was the program's third since joining the GNAC in 2007 and secured Saint Joseph's fourth NCAA Tournament appearance. The Monks' season ended with a hard-fought 71-67 setback to Babson College in the opening round.
