CASCO, Maine – Saint Joseph's College carded a team score of 317 to tie the University of Maine at Augusta for third place in the 23rd Annual John Queenan Memorial Tournament at Point Sebago Golf Resort on Wednesday.
The University of Southern Maine won the tournament with a four-player score of 298, finishing seven strokes ahead of runner-up Husson University (305). The University of New England followed the Monks and Moose in fifth place with a 318.
Southern Maine's Will Farschon claimed medalist honors after firing a two-under-par 70. USM's Quinn Dillon placed second with a one-over 73, while Jaden Poirier of Southern Maine and Alex Grant of USM's B team tied for third with matching 74s.
Junior AJ Davis (Turner, Maine) paced the Royal Blue with a four-over 76 and tied for ninth overall. Sophomore Alex Watts (Saco, Maine) and junior Kyle Bowlan (Pelham, N.H.) tied for 16th after shooting matching 79s. The Monks' team score was their lowest in the home tournament since 2021, when they posted a 321 collective card.
One of Maine's longest-running annual collegiate golf events, the tournament is named in memory of John Queenan, a 2003 graduate of Bow High School who died tragically in an automobile accident shortly before the beginning of his freshman year as a student-athlete at Saint Joseph's.
