Pierre-Jacques Posts Double-Double

St. Joe's defeated Maine Fort Kent on Wednesday in game 1 of the Green Mountain Tournament by a score of 64-44.  The Monks had defeated the Bengals earlier in the season by only 2 points.

Sophomore Yoandree Pierre-Jacques ( Providence , RI ) didn't disappoint in her first intercollegiate start, scoring 14 points and grabbing 15 points.  Pierre-Jacques also had the unenviable task of guarding Fort Kent leading scorer Arcilla Jeffers, who was held to 11 points on 5 for 13 shooting.

The Bengals stayed within striking distance in the first half, 28-23, but struggled with pressure early in the second half.  The Monks finished with 10 steals and used full-court defense to pull away and build a sizeable lead.

Junior captain Kaylin Regula had 20 points and 8 boards and sophomore Megan Farrell ( Abington , MA ) had 12 points and 5 boards.
