STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College senior guard Elisabeth Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) scored the 1,000th point of her collegiate career in a hard-fought conference loss at Norwich University on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

MILESTONE MOMENT:

Stapelfeld entered the contest with 984 career points and reached the 1,000-point mark just 1:03 into the third quarter, scooping up a loose ball near midcourt and finishing a fastbreak layup. She is the 28th player in Saint Joseph's women's basketball history to reach the milestone and the first to do so since former teammate Angelica Hurley '24 hit the plateau on February 10, 2024.

CAREER DAY:

Stapelfeld closed the afternoon with a career-high 27 points on 10-of-18 shooting, adding four rebounds and five steals.

FAMILY TIES:

Stapelfeld also becomes part of the first sister duo to join the Monks' 1,000-Point Club, alongside her sister Cassandra Stapelfeld '22, who totaled 1,683 points during her collegiate career. The Stapelfeld sisters will join another family pairing on the banner: Linda (Johnson) Freeman '81 and Carolyn Freeman '10, a mother-daughter duo who scored 1,560 and 1,111 points, respectively.

CAREER SNAPSHOT:

Through 101 contests, Stapelfeld has totaled 1,036 points, 358 rebounds, 208 assists, and 97 steals while shooting 46.6% (382-819) from the field, 31.4% (66-210) from three-point range, and 75.7% (206-272) from the free-throw line.

THIS SEASON:

Through 15 games this winter, Stapelfeld is averaging 13.1 points and 4.9 rebounds—both career highs—along with 2.4 assists while shooting 39.2% (71-of-181) from the field, 29.4% (13-of-48) from three-point range, and 81.6% (40-of-49) at the line. She leads the team in scoring average (13.1), points (197), field goals made (71), assists (36), free throws made (40), and free-throw percentage (81.6%).
