CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams continued to record impressive results on Sunday as the SJC women won a giant slalom race and the Monks' men finished second in a United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA) event at Sugarloaf on Sunday.

Freshman Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) notched a 1:41.89 (51.10, 50.79) composite time to collect top individual honors for the second-consecutive week while first-year Erica Irvin (Windham, N.H.) eclipsed the women's field with a 1:57.29 (58.13, 59.16) performance to earn her first collegiate victory.

The individual victory sweep by Strobeck and Irvin marks the first time in program history that a St. Joe's skier has stood atop both the men's and women's podiums in the same event.

For the women, junior Sarah Hotchkiss (New Durham, N.H.) placed fourth with a 2:07.93 (1:04.53, 1:03.40) time and freshman Kaitlyn Gerhard (Dover, N.H.) was fifth with a 2:15.86 (1:06.71, 1:09.15) effort.

For the men, freshman Aidan Wolfinger (Bedford, N.H.) finished fifth (1:46.48, 53.21 – 53.27) and sophomore Tucker Davis (South Berwick, Maine) placed ninth (1:58.29, 58.91 – 59.38). First-year Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) also competed and posted a 52.17 time on the first run but posted a DNF on the second trek.
