RUMFORD, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams competed in a giant slalom race at Black Mountain on Saturday. The SJC women claimed the team victory, while the Monks' men finished second.
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
Saint Joseph's won the event with 11 place points and a combined time of 3:55.15. Freshman Ava Beaudin (Raymond, Maine) paced the Monks with a runner-up finish in 1:17.63. UMaine-Farmington's Rosie St. Cyr took first in 1:16.37, while teammate Houkulani Caroselli placed third with a time of 1:18.12.
Bowdoin (4:09.35, 31 points), UMaine-Farmington (4:11.87, 30 points), UMaine-Orono (4:11.90, 32 points), and Bates (4:52.14, 78 points) also competed in Saturday's giant slalom.

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
UMaine-Farmington captured the men's team title with six place points and a combined time of 3:33.85. UMF swept the podium, led by Sam Roy (1:10.68) in first, followed by Lance Dolan (1:11.39) in second and Magnus Riggs (1:11.78) in third. Saint Joseph's finished second with 27 place points and a total time of 3:41.17.
Bowdoin (3:48.98, 47 points) and UMaine-Orono (3:54.13, 53 points) also competed in Saturday's giant slalom.
