BRIDGTON, Maine - The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams competed in a giant slalom race at Pleasant Mountain on Saturday. The SJC women picked up their fourth victory of the season while the Monks' men posted a fourth consecutive second-place finish.
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
Saint Joseph's secured the victory with eight place points and a total time of 4:13.31. The Monks were led by freshmen Maggie Cook (Centennial, Colo.), who finished as the runner-up with a time of 1:23.40, and Ava Beaudin (Raymond, Maine), who rounded out the podium with a 1:23.75 performance. Colby's Gabrielle Henry won the event with a time of 1:20.51.
UMaine-Orono (33 pts, 4:40.18), UMaine-Farmington (37 pts, 4:40.52) and Bowdoin (36 pts, 4:50.51) also raced in the giant slalom today.
FOR THE MONKS:

- Junior Lily Anctil (Greene, Maine) – sixth, 1:26.16 (42.49 / 43.67)

- Sophomore Reese Burke (Center Barnstead, N.H.) – eight, 1:29.31 (44.08 / 45.23)
- Senior Sienna Mack (Lincoln, N.H.) – 10th, 1:31.18 (43.93 / 47.25)
- Junior Meghan Cyr (Hampden, Maine) – DNS
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
UMaine-Farmington took the men's title with a total time of 3:46.52 and eight place points. Colby's Jack AbuHaider won the event with a time of 1:14.78 while UMF's Lance Dolan (1:15.17) and Sam Roy (1:15.21) rounded out the podium. Saint Joseph's finished second with a total time of 3:50.98 and 18 place points, led by senior Colin Rathbone (Groton, Mass.), who finished fourth with a time of 1:15.92.
Bowdoin (39 pts, 4:05.04) and UMaine-Orono (66 pts, 4:32.32) also raced in the giant slalom today.
