SJC Men's Alpine Finishes 15th in USCSA Giant Slalom Championship

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The Saint Joseph's College men's alpine ski team placed 15th with a 7:32.65 composite time in the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Giant Slalom National Championships at Whiteface Mountain on Wednesday.

Sophomore Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) placed 56th overall with a 2:29.34 (1:11.77, 1:17.57) time while freshman Jacob Morris (North Woodstock, N.H.) finished 57th with a 2:30.13 (1:12.90, 1:17.23) performance and second-year Aidan Wolfinger (Bedford, N.H.) was 61st with a 2:33.18 (1:13.98, 1:19.20) effort.

Sophomore Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) posted the 21st fastest time (1:05.38) on the first run but crashed on his second stint.

Saint Joseph's, making their first National Championships appearance as a third-year varsity program under the watch of Head Coach Margot Cosentino, will race in the Slalom National Championship on Friday and the Dual Slalom Championship on Saturday.

The SJC women return to the slopes tomorrow to race in the Slalom National Championships.
