SJC Men Finish Sixth in USCSA Eastern Regional Slalom Championship

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College men's alpine ski team finished sixth with a 4:26.97 aggregate time in the USCSA Eastern Region Slalom Championship at Sugarloaf Mountain on Saturday.

Castleton University topped the 16-team field with a 4:06.30 time while Clarkson University (4:18.82), Babson College (4:20.47), UMaine-Farmington (4:23.50), and University of Connecticut (4:24.44) closed out the list of top five teams in the slalom championship.

Castleton placed the top three individuals, as Lorenzo Mencaccini (1:21.44), Elliot Perretta (1:22.33), and Aksel Stroem-Hansen 1:22.53 finished 1-2-3 in slalom race.

THE RUNDOWN:

  • Junior Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) placed 11th with a 1:26.90 (41.14, 45.76) time
  • Freshman Logan Davis (Naples, Maine) finished 15th with a 1:28.69 (41.97, 46.72) performance
  • Freshman Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.) was 28th (1:31.38, 43.54 – 47.84)
  • Sophomore Jacob Morris (Woodstock, N.H.) placed 44th (1:47.95, 43.16 – 1:04.79)
  • Freshman Colin Rathbone (Groton, Mass.) posted a 43.91 time on the first run but did not finish the second stint

Saint Joseph's will compete in the USCSA Eastern Region Giant Slalom Championship at Sugarloaf tomorrow. The event begins at 9:30 AM.
